Kona Hawaii Fishing Report: Sept, 7, 2007      

The Kona Marlin fishing right now is more like winter than summer...bigger marlin but fewer numbers.  However the water has warm considerably the past few day which should bring in larger numbers of Blue Marlin. There have been some very large fish landed the past few weeks, the largest was 911 lbs. 

Earlier this month we landed one Blue that weighed in at 559 lbs.  Summer and fall are our best times for Blue Marlin in Kona.  The prospects for September and October are excellent.  The Kona Blue marlin fishing should stay good throughout the fall.

                Kona Charter Fishing

I am one of the few owner/operators in the Kona  sport fishing fleet.  Many Kona fishing boats are owned by corporations who have multiple boats and multiple captains.  As an owner Captain,  I love fishing in Kona and enjoy  showing anglers a variety of the fishing techniques used fishing in Kona.   I also like talking with each angler and then customizing a fishing trip just for them.  While many of my clients want to fish for Blue Marlin, others enjoy light tackle fishing for Wahoo and Mahi Mahi.   Most of my clients are valued repeat customers.

I also do things a bit differently than most Kona fishing boats.  Most Kona charter boats book either through charter fishing boat services or hotel activity desks. These vacation services take a large commission for their services. I only book direct with the customer either through personal references or through the Internet. This allows me to keep my rates low to you since I do not pay for referral commissions.  My rates are the best of any top quality Kona  fishing boat.
